   Oakland County PROSPER MagazineCLIENTOakland County OVERVIEWAn informative review of select municipalities, businesses, educational institutions and economic initiatives throughout Oakland County CASE STUDYA publication that has been used for several years by Oakland County to attract interest in and provide information about the area, this vehicle has previously helped to generate $1.2 billion in investments for the County. Always looking to improve however, the County sought Skidmore's assistance in developing a new approach for the publication that would help to generate even more business opportunities. In addition to renaming the publication to PROSPER, Skidmore refreshed the design to be more evocative of a magazine rather than a marketing piece. The layout of the book now follows a stricter grid than in the past and editorial content was approached with a consistent design to differentiate it from the ads. Further attempts to improve credibility of the magazine include refreshing the editorial outline to incorporate more content about communities, businesses, educational institutions and initiatives like Medical Mainstreet. RESULTS"We're thrilled with our partnership with Skidmore and the new direction they've taken PROSPER," noted Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson. "The new magazine is a wonderful reflection of what a great place Oakland County is to live, work and prosper. While I've always been proud of the publication, I think PROSPER now represents our economic and business advantages in a more compelling manner." Nearly 40 million people will have access to the printed version of PROSPER through Detroit Metropolitan and Flint's Bishop International airports, area hotels, libraries and various local distribution points throughout southeast Michigan. Much of this content is also available on the magazine's newly launched web site www.ocprosper.org, which was also designed and built by Skidmore.
