Thinking outside the box
Combine craft hard seltzer with personal curation and an advent calendar, and you get Hard Seltzer Box Co. That’s what founder Shannon Long dreamed of when she began planning the launch of a hard seltzer curation company that would bring people together and satisfy their desires for new fizzy flavors. Her ability to leverage existing relationships with wholesale beverage retailers meant that she had the will and the way to make it happen. She asked us to deliver brand strategy and design that communicated bubbly, fruity, uncontainable energy and appealed to like-minded seltzer-heads.
The 24-can advent box marries colorful retro collages and party-themed iconography to communicate themes of celebration and flavor.


Fruit on the brain
The collages scattered across the box capture the effervescent fruitiness and unexpected flavor combinations of the seltzers inside.
An energetic and cheerful personality comes to life on the box with interactive moments of surprise and delight throughout the month-long unboxing experience. Leveraging QR codes and conversation-starters, daily prompts hidden under each “door” encourage connection with friends, family, and the brand.



To get the ball rolling quickly, we provided Hard Seltzer Box Co.’s team a flexible, collage-inspired social template to use on Instagram. Both paid and organic social targeted hardcore seltzer lovers with posts that hyped up brewery partners and teased upcoming product drops.
The results
From first brand workshop to final dielines, we brought Hard Seltzer Box Co. to life and launch-ready in 2 months. Shannon used our branding toolkit to turn her dream into a reality and Hard Seltzer Box Co. enjoyed a highly successful direct-to-customer pre-sale that landed Shannon retail placements in time for the holiday gifting season.
